Upcoming Talks

I’m looking forward to a couple of presentations I’ll be giving over the next two months.  These include a talk at Cardiff University, as part of their research seminar series, where I’ll be speaking on the subject of my thesis research:

Visual Culture and Archaeological Scholarship: The Role of Images in the Foundation of Academic Archaeology in Britain

In April I’ll be working with the students of the MA in Archaeological Illustration course at Swindon College on methods of visual analysis, with specific reference to the critical interpretation of ‘academic’ archaeological imagery.

And next week I’ll be speaking to Southampton‘s very own Archaeology and Society course about visual knowledge construction in the discipline, and my own experiences in developing my pictorial research from a BA Honours project into an MA dissertation and now a PhD thesis.

We’re also organising a HARN meeting and presentation session for mid-March in Cambridge — so things are busy!
